Job Description

As a Quality Assurance analyst, you will review and analyze the performance quality of the Underwriting, Risk and Recovery analysts in following procedures and identifying fraud, credit and reputational risk. All data/reports are used to identify opportunities for staff coaching, policy clarification, with the goal of improving consistency and overall quality.

This is a 12 months contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Review an adequate sampling of merchant and partner applications (daily, weekly, monthly) to determine if corporate policies and general underwriting procedures are/were followed; and that prudent underwriting decisions were made. This includes but is not limited to the review of all file data elements, other miscellaneous documentation, and noting any exceptions or deviations to policy.
  • Review an adequate sampling risk case (daily, weekly, monthly) to determine if corporate policies and general risk procedures are/were followed; and that prudent risk decisions were made. This includes but is not limited to the review of all file data elements, other miscellaneous documentation, and noting any exceptions or deviations to policy.
  • Review an adequate sampling of Settlement Operations and Collections work to determine if corporate policies and procedures are/were followed.
  • Ensure Quality Assurance reviews are conducted regularly as required on a timely, efficient and objective basis.
  • Ensure the number of files reviewed meet corporate expectations monthly.
  • Ensure Quality Assurance reviews/assessments are conducted on fraudulent or irregular activity identified and provide executive summaries of same to the department Manager.
  • Recommend changes for updates to fraud mitigation initiatives.
  • Assist in reporting misrepresentation or compliance failures to the Compliance department.
  • Prepare various reports monthly and ad-hoc spreadsheets when required on findings relative to QA and other ongoing investigations.
  • Assist in developing, maintaining and enhancing/evolving an independent QA Database.
  • Any other tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements

 

Qualifications or skills required:

  • 2-5 year of applicable work experience in relevant field.
  • Experience in bank or bankcard industry.
  • Good business sense.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work with teams in local and remote locations.
  • English required, French highly recommended due to French communication records.
  • Well-developed communication skills, verbal and written, sufficient to provide clear and detailed explanation and interpretation of information, analysis and recommendations.
  • Ability to develop creative, innovative approaches and value solutions to business issues, concerns or process within the scope of a Quality Assurance mandate.
  • Ensuring accuracy, quality, “balanced and objective” output.
  • Strengthening internal relationships relative to acceptance of critical findings and making recommendations for improved quality.
  • Managing resistance to change and influencing positive behavior.
